Hello everyone. The rally and show season seems to have drawn to a close now which means we can start shopping the buses ready for MOT's. As you will read elsewhere on the site we are currently working on Bristol VR 7980. Once this is done my 7681 will be put through followed by DMS550 and then 1178. She should (fingers crossed) be ready early next year but as usual we will keep you informed.
I've met some of you over the last few months and look forward to seeing more of you over the next few months/next season. Remember, if your in the area let me know and we'll do our best to arrange a visit to 1178.

Hello everyone, it's been a really quiet month I'm afraid. By the time you read this we should have at least two more shareholders on board, Bryce and Ron. Welcome aboard gentlemen, you should get your paperwork back within the next few weeks. Also for our other members your FotEK membership should come through soon if not already, let me know if you have any problems with this. As I said things have been rather slow due to running days and holidays and such. I'm hoping that when things start to quieten down we can get 1178 over and given her clean up, maybe sort the electrical problem out too and get her lined up for the MOT at long last.
Finally I will be at the running day on the 31st in my VR 7681 so if your up this way or want to say 'hello' please pop over.

Well I've finally been given the key to the garage where 1178 lives and went to visit her today (19th July 2009) where I met up with Barrie. After a tour of the garage and the other vehicles within we started up 1178 with the aid of the trusty jump pack. Once the smoke had cleared(!!!!) you could see and hear she is still in fine fettle if a little dusty. She may be closer to getting an MOT than I reckoned before and I'm hoping to have her electrics checked over by an PCV electrician soon. As promised I did take pictures BUT 1178 is squeezed in next to the museum bus and is not in the best place for photographs.

Not much to report so far this month but we are only a few days in so far!
With the continuing problems with AEC Swift 1187 and AEC Regent 780B's fuel tank our resources have had to be diverted on to them, however I'm still hoping that we will get round to looking at and fault finding the electrics that are causing her to be VOR.
In the mean time I'm looking into making a website for 1178 where we can chat, post pictures and arange meetings etc. Talking of which I'm thinking of organising a meeting to view 1178 over the next month. Anyone interested (members only I'm afraid) drop me an email.

Well the shares in 1178 are going really well, we've had interest from 14 people at the moment from places as far a field as New Zealand, France and er.... Newcastle! I'm hoping to get over to see her within the next few weeks and check her over. I must state at this stage that EFN isn't kept in the same place as either of my two buses which can make life harder when it comes to spreading my resources but the good news is she's undercover and secure.
The electrical fault that has kept her VOR for a while will hopefully be sorted out over the next few months, again the time factor is a bit of a pain and anyone that has had experince of British Leyland wiring will know it's rather over complictated in these motors. Once this is fixed and depending on funds an MOT date will be booked and then we can look to putting her back where she belongs- on the open highway. As stated, this does depend on funds so if you haven't yet sent you share money in, please try to get it into us over the next month or so. Also may I say a big thankyou to those of you who already have paid. I will be returning your paperwaor shortly.
Finally, I have been givin some information on 1178 from her former owner Carl Underwood. It contains some pictures of her in various guises through the years. I'll try to post these on in the near future but as they are colour photocopies they may not transfer too well. On the subject pictures, I have been asked to post some pictures of 1178 as she is now, again, I'll be taking these in the next few weeks.
